Why I do this

My father passed in 2017.

It came out of nowhere. He got sick suddenly and then got worse fast — hospital, then another hospital, then a nursing home. By then he wasn’t always himself. The medication kept him in and out, and a lot of the time he wasn’t coherent. We were trying to get things handled — power of attorney, his finances, everything that needed to be arranged — but the window where he could still sign for himself had closed before we knew it was closing. He didn’t have a will. To this day I’m not certain whether he ever had one.

I lost my mother in 2004. She left behind a pension and some money, and because nothing had been laid out clearly, it put a strain on the family at a time when we were already grieving.

My father and I were very close. He was one of my best friends.

I can’t go back and fix any of that. What I can do is make it easier for somebody else’s family. That’s why Rapid X Notary exists — so that when a document has to be signed and the person signing it is in a hospital bed, or a nursing home, or simply can’t get out of the house, somebody shows up. Correctly, on time, wherever you are.

Nobody should be chasing down a notary during the worst week of their life.

Who I am

Torrance B. Joseph, founder of Rapid X Notary LLC, based in Las Vegas.

Nevada Notary Public — Commission 24-8509-01. Certified Notary Trust Delivery Agent (CNTDA). Certified Notary Signing Agent. $10,000 Bonded · $100,000 E&O Insured. Background check current.

How I trained

I came to notary work from a background in inspection and risk — an Associate of Applied Science in Construction Technology, Building Analyst Professional and Building Science Principles certification through the Building Performance Institute, and the Loss Control Academy. That work trained me to check every page instead of assuming a detail is right because it looks right. In a notarization, that habit is the entire job.

What you can expect

Every document checked before I leave. Clear pricing before we start. Available 24/7 by appointment, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. And a straight answer if what you need is something I can’t legally do — I’m not an attorney and I don’t give legal advice, but I’ll tell you who can help.
